11 tips to nail your next presentation

We live and die by how we present ideas. This doesn't always mean slides, but very often it does. Here are 11 top tips to nail your next presentation.

  1. Spend 20 mins playing back the client brief. They probably forgot.

  2. Always read every word on every slide. Frequency is your friend.

  3. Use fancy language to explain simple things. Smarts win deals.

  4. Talk really fast and chaotically. It shows extraordinary passion.

  5. Share all your thinking but never conclude it. It's about the process.

  6. Quote Binet and Field at least twice. Shows you like solid ratios.

  7. Quote Byron Sharp at least once. It's probably about reach.

  8. If you're feeling extra sweary, quote Mark Ritson profusely.

  9. End with a Gary V quote about engagement. Social-first thinking.

  10. Never, ever show less than two frameworks. Clients see through it.

  11. Be as clever as you can. Rate cards don't justify themselves.

This is the stuff they don't want you to know. Ignore it at your peril!
